Ingredients:

  • 2 calamari, Cleaned and Washed
  • 1 Egg
  • Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 Tbsp Water
  • 1/2 Cup | 65g Cornflour

Coating:

  • 1 Cup | 150g Self Raising Flour
  • Pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder or Granulate
  • Oil for Deep Frying
  • Serve with Fruity sweet chilli sauce/ Thai sauce
Calamar Croustillant recipe

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, put 1 egg add pepper, add 1 tbsp of garlic powder, salt to taste, 1 tbsp of garlic paste. Mix well

2. Add 1/2 cup (65g) cornflour or any starch and add 3 tbsp of water. Whisk until well combined.

3. Add in the calamari

4. Cover and chill for 2 hours

5. Put 1 cup of self raising flour in a bowl, add pepper, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 tbsp of granulated onion, 1 tbsp of garlic powder, salt to taste. Mix well.

6. Coat the calamari into the flour mixture

7. Heat some oil over medium high heat

8. Deep fry the calamari for 3-4 minutes until golden colour

9. Serve hot and with fruity sweet chilli sauce
